In what way is a network protocol analyzer different from that of a packet sniffer?

there is some different between packet sniffer and network analyzer , in a sniffer software you can capture the packet and modify the packet and send to destination again which means you can change the data of packet , but in network analyzer you can just monitor the network and just see the packet but you never can change contain the packet , In network analyzer you can use the filtering and IO graph to recognize the traffic of network ,but in most of sniffer you don`t have this type of facility .
