Question on Transimission Media:
A ray of light is bent in the presence of a magnetic field. This can affect the occurrence of TIR due to the light bending, which affects the acceptance angle. In India, we already have telephone lines running underground, which are electromagnets. Consider a badly planned underground system where the optic fibre should be laid very close to an existing phone line. What can be done to implement an optic fibre channel at minimal cost?

Consider a network which is a combination of systems running Linux and Windows. Can a Windows system analyze the network and can a Linux system without any additional software or configuration? If it can't, what are the alternative softwares that have to be used in addition to Wireshark? If there has to be any modification in the config what should they be?
